XL+ is a product design consultancy based in Shanghai China. For their new Shanghai office space they choose an old 1930s warehouse and commissioned GC&A to renovate and design the space to suit their needs. The concept behind the redesign was ‘floating space”. GC&A designed the office space around the working characteristics of XL+, which places great emphasis on group work, group discussion and coworking. They therefore went about designing various “floating spaces” within the office to promote and stimulate each of these aspects.
Another cool feature of this office which we absolutely love, is the fact that the floors of this chic shanghai office space were entirely made up of recycled flooring from an old city construction project.
