This office is the HQ of Andy’s Frozen Custard, a popular establishment in several states across the Midwest of the USA. The offices were designed by Dake Wells Architecture, according to them;
The existing building shell is painted white while the “wrapper” is painted red in reference to a bowl of cherries, a trademark topping of the client’s frozen custard. Aluminium awning windows salvaged from another project were rotated 90 degrees and used as casements to admit north light to the workstations, giving each workstation individual control of daylight and ventilation. Translucent polycarbonate barn doors define semi-private spaces without sacrificing daylight.
We particularly like the use of Red to give the office a bright vibrant feel – this is especially the case since the colour is closely linked to the company’s brand. The use of red is not overwhelming however, the surrounding colours are used to great effect to tone down the overall look.
