Allens Linklaters appointed BVN Architecture to design and develop their office space in Melbourne. Linklaters is an international firm with offices around the globe, including Australia, Asia and Europe. The space was designed to incorporated the firm’s core values of ‘clear thinking’ and ‘one firm’. Simple materials were used to give the space a feel of elegance and precision, with the subtle use of detail integrated the environment with honest materials.
A key aspect of the design is the incorporation of Allens Linklaters’ corporate art collection throughout the workplace, particularly on the client floor where timber floors, white walls and refined details create the ambience of an art gallery. The workplace will accommodate legal and corporate service staff in a mixture of open plan and offices. BVN undertook the functional brief, design and documentation for the project. The development of the brief included an extensive programme of user group meetings which explored both functional and aspirational aspects of the new workplace.
