Pearson is an education publishing and assessment service to schools and corporations, as well as directly to students. It owns leading educational media brands, including Penguin Books and the Financial Times. Though the company generates approximately 60% of its sales in North America, they operate in more than 70 countries. Pearson International is headquartered in London with offices across Europe, Asia and South America.
The company’s Boston office space was redesigned by Architectural firm Nelson in 2011, taking their current staff from a space populated with perimeter offices to a new workspace which features plentiful teaming spaces, reducing the number of private offices and emphasising a mobile workforce culture.
Coinciding with these planning studies were conceptual design studies on the look and feel of the spaces, specifically those “magnet” hubs envisioned as focal points through the newly restacked planning layout. Image studies of these hubs depicting the various amenities to be present in the space were developed as part of the real estate strategy package.
