Avila Spaces Presents an Innovative Case Study on Flexible Working Models during Future Offices 2017

Avila Spaces was the only European coworking and workspace operator to attend the Future Offices 2017 conference

eOffice Portuguese partner Avila Spaces is the market leader in virtual offices and shared workspaces in Portugal. Alongside companies including SAP, Microsoft, Staples, General Electric and Go Daddy, Avila Spaces CEO, Carlos Gonçalves presented an innovative case study on flexible working models. Other presentations included talks on workplace trends design and architecture, as well as efficient building management and strategies for attracting and retaining talent through the workspace.

Future Offices 2017 is the second edition of an event organised by the IQPC – International Quality & Productivity Center, a place of excellence to discuss spaces and models of work of the future. The event took place this August 22nd-24th in Seattle, WA, USA.

Avila’s Research and Development Department is headed by Teresa Câmara Jacinto. The company has become a reference for research and innovation in the workspace sector. In fact, they have recently opened a new concept of workspace in Portugal: the coworking business lounge. Avila Spaces is also the creator of the first worldwide remote management app for virtual and physical offices, myOffice, which has been nominated for this year’s Portugal Digital Awards in the “Best Digital Workplace” category.

Carlos announced the Avila’s successful case in the panel: “Defining & Translating Workplace Success: Metrics, Employee Feedback and the Bottom Line”, where he had the opportunity to answer some questions about new workspace concepts. In this panel, there were also SAP, Coterie Worklounge and Rifitini representatives.

“At this event, in several discussions, it was interesting to note that the new generations of professionals are more and more fond of having the freedom to choose where and how to work, as a result coworking and other flexible work models have a growing demand in the the American and in the European markets. Compared to 2016 and globally, the number of users of coworking spaces increased 41%, and currently it is already over one million people», concludes Carlos Gonçalves.
