Barbecoa is one of London’s newest restaurants, a joint venture between Jamie Oliver and Adam Perry. It is centrally located, with views of London’s St Paul’s Cathedral. As the name may suggest, the restaurant specialises in all things meat, even going so far as to have its very own traditional butchers right next door. The butchers shop provides the restaurant with all meat requirements, but also sells to the general public.
The branding was done by MadeThought, who were tasked with reflecting various qualities into the brand – including honesty, heritage, integrity and authority. The Interior design is by Tom Dixon’s Design Reserach Studio, who aimed to introduce not only a flavour of the cooking methods into the design, but also the surrounding area. For example the large pipes in the ceiling are a nod to the organ pipes of St Paul’s Cathedral, while the use of honest textures and materials reflect the style of food being served.
