Your health is essential wherever you go, and so has become the link between the workplace and well-being for employees, employers, and landlords. The rise of interest in wellness at work and implementing health programs in the workplace has become a vital piece of a healthy lifestyle. Companies are taking employee wellness more seriously now as people are increasingly being diagnosed with chronic diseases such as depression and hypertension due to toxic working environments.
Wellbeing in the workplace has become a hot topic of conversation in the business world. Studies suggest that unhealthy work environments lead to a decline in the overall health of employees, contribute to an increase in health-related expenses for employers and employees, and lead to lower productivity and days of work missed.
According to the American Psychological Association, companies of all sizes and types of business are using wellness programs and perks to lower absenteeism, attract talent, and save on healthcare costs, while employees have become more health-conscious in the past several years. Ideally, the workplace should be a place protecting the safety and well-being of employees while providing them with opportunities for better long-term health.
Conferences and events promoting health and well-being at work are capturing people’s and attention. Such is the case of The WELLNESS17 event built on the success of Unwired’s WORKTECH series of conferences encompassing all aspects of wellness including mind, body and spirit and addresses some of the most interesting and challenging subjects in the field. UNWIRED also produces events and reports on all aspects of work, workplace, technology & innovation.
