Microsoft – Sydney, Australia

Futurespace is a team of people devoted to designing the amazing spaces that people will inhabit.  They aim to make a profound difference in the way people interact in and are influenced by everyday physical spaces that enable working, learning and living. The company has recently designed a new office for Microsoft in Sydney Australia, which included activity based working ideas.
It was important for Microsoft that the needs of the Australian teams were addressed individually, but in a way that adhered to the global facilities brief of the company know as  Workplace Advantage (WPA).  The top three floors of the environment were designated as private working floors, strictly for Microsoft employees. The ground floor became an active, more public floor showcasing the brand and providing a variety of customer interfaces and concierge services. The ground floor also included a multi-function café that can be used around the clock for internal functions and external events.

Through adopting new ways of working, the company has increased productivity and engagement, magnetized talented staff and in addition has won a number of awards and accolades for their innovative approach to the workplace.
